The Zoya Akhtar directional hit screens on the 5th of June and the journey for sure is going to be as smooth as that of the cruse on the beautiful Mediterranean sea. Yes , we are talking of Dil Dhadakne Do !
The story revolves around the Mehras played by Anil Kapoor(Kamal Mehra), Shefali Shah(Neelam Mehra) , Ranveer Singh(Kabir Mehra) , Priyanka Chopra(Ayesha Mehra) and Pluto the dog who also narrates the story much better than what Sajid Khan did in Himatwala.
The performance of each and every character is so disctinctly visible and major credit goes to Zoya and Reema Kagti for their out of the world writing.
Ranveer Singh has given his career best performance till date. Playing an unrban city boy was so his character and his comic and carefree attitude along with his powerful acting has made the audience to look at a different Ranveer Singh.
Priynaka Chopra who plays the Mehras sweet little daughter. In fact, they try to convince her to stay out of the Mehras family by not divorcing her hubby played by Rahul Bose who has done his part.
Shefali Shah is the show stealer. The way she carries a perfect upper class dilliwali house wife is quite commendable. She showcases how a true mother would treat both her children and was in no way filmy.
Coming to the Chakas man, Anil Kapoor portrays a strict father and outplays the kind of image that he had built for himself and his rapport with Shefali and his on-screen children was stupendous.
Anushkha Sharma plays a dancer on the cruse and her limited screen presence gives minute scope performance but still delivers a powerful performance as ever. Farhan Akhtar plays a cameo role and sweeps the audience which is no new to his standards.
Possibly the best trio Shankar – Eshan – Loy are just piling on the hit numbers and this movie is no exception. The music of the movie which already was a hit gave Dil Dhadakne Do a real boost and the visuals have been quite a treat for the eyes.
On the whole Dil Dhadakne Do is clear cut ‘family entertainer’ and the audience have been waiting for this for quite a long time.
