Was it not obvious? Rafael Nadal winning on the clay court is easier than the phrase cake walk. Hence, the king of clay has unleashed all his might to beat Stan Wawrinka in straight sets. Even the margins 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 with which Nadal clean swept today’s match left nothing but nightmares to Stan. But for Nadal, this victory is special. This is the first time that a player has won 10 Grand Slam titles of the same championship in Open Era.
Nadal’s love towards the clay court and the champion’s trophy is indeed inseparable. Since 2005, Nadal has won 10 out of the 13 French open titles, leaving 1 each to Federer, Djokovic, and Wawrinka. Each time Rafa won the trophy, his love towards it resembles eternity, just like this –

It was not an easy journey for Nadal this time. He was not in the tournament as a top seed. Oh, when did seeds even matter? After watching what happened in the Women’s singles, it is crystal clear that seeded or unseeded, as long as you are comfortable in the game and if that’s your day, you will do it! Rafa now owns 15 Grand Slam singles titles and surpassed the record of Pete Sampras, standing 2nd to Federer on the board.

With Roger Federer winning Australian Open and Rafael Nadal winning French Open, shuts up everyone who said their game is over. Oh man, now we desperately want these two head each other in a Grand Slam finals. How awesome can that game get? Nostalgic
Congratulating the Spaniard on his historic 10th French Open title, signing off from the Roland Garros for this season!!
