Dear Valentine’s day, what have you done?

Dear Valentine’s day, what have you done?

From what I have seen and been, people when in a relationship act widely and weirdly different than usual and it varies from couple to couple. Though the way relationships are handled or lets say dealt with might be divergent, the ‘Love’ that prevails and persists is same everywhere!

Talking about differences, not everyone in a relationship celebrate Valentine’s day! Clearly, the V-day is just hyped up and benefiting these two kinds of people the most –

  1. Merchants who sell gifts/cards/bouquets or what not to get double profits andValentine's day

  2. The ‘singles’ who make memes out of this and take to internet to express their anguish.

Keeping this aside, for those non-singles who have been waiting for this day and did ‘Save the date’ – We have nothing more than wishing you a !Happy Valentine’s day! But for those who were planning to plan from the times V-day was round the corner and still could not reach a conclusion, here are a few tricks to help you in the last minute!

1.Dinner Date – Yeah, yeah! This is pretty obvious and also seems like a dreary idea, but truly it is not! What more does your valentine expect than spending the evening with you? May be, unlike usual dinners you can plan something on a roof top or a candle light dinner. If you want to go a step further, arrange the dinner date at your place. You benefit not just more privacy but a chance to make it more personalized.

2. How about a drive? Long or short, definitely not a bad idea! Perfect one if your mate likes travelling. For someone like me, this would be this best thing I would want! Start evening-ish or late night on the previous day or to be more romantic an hour or two before the clock strikes 12. As it might take an hour to get out of the honks and horns of the city, imagine you two driving into the breezy moonlight night at those lovely hours, on a highway, between those wide roads, and a beautiful moon in the distant sky and your love close by… what more does anybody (like me) want? 😛

3. Gift a card – If you guys are not in the same city or cannot happen to meet each other, then the best gift you could give is a card or an album or a scrap book for that matter! If you can do it yourself rather than buying one, that way you can double its worth for sure. If not a card, the only thing that can compensate this is a flower bouquet. Know beforehand, which one does your love loves and get them beautifully wrapped and dressed!

4. Go on a trip – Again, depends on what you love! If you are travel freaks plan on a wonderful trip to a romantic city like Venice! Ahem ahem.. I know Venice is a bit overboard, how about some hill station like Munnar, Ooty or Mahabaleshwar or our very own Goa and Manali? And luckily this year Valentine’s day is on a weekend! Can’t be more perfect timing!!

Adding to the above mentioned things, there are quite a lot! But above all, if you are not around, at least call your love and tell them how much you love them, that is what matters the most!

Happy Valentine’s everyone!

As love is in the air today, on a lighter note –
Valentine's day
Who gets it right better than Sheldon Cooper!”
